Removing Indicated Designations for Child Abuse or Child Neglect By ACS and CPS

Removing Indicated Designations for Child Abuse or Child Neglect By ACS and CPSAn investigation by ACS or CPS can be both emotionally taxing and frustrating for parents or children’s guardians. To start with, these agencies have the ability to remove children from their homes. The reports to them can be made anonymously. If a case is opened, even if the case is determined to be unfounded, a record has been made with ACS or CPS. That record will impact on any future investigation by ACS or CPS which would make any future investigation even move problematic for those individuals with a record of an alleged complaint.

When an individual contacts ACS or CPS a case is opened and an investigation
ensues. Sometimes these reports are made by individuals totally to harass, humiliate and
aggravate the families involved.

Violent Incidence – Victims

Children should never be exposed to domestic incidence. Some individuals think ~ Well if there is domestic violence by the parents it is none of the children’s business. That is not the case. Domestic violence incidents have been known to have a psychological impact on children. Studies have shown that children that are exposed to domestic violence often are involved in domestic violence as adults. If there have been domestic violence incidents the parents will often require therapy and therapy may also be necessary for the children

If an attorney for the child or children has been appointed, that attorney may look
into problems involving the children being exposed to domestic violence in their household.
